On 18 October, Daira and Azaad Sangeet by Siddharth Pandit come to antiSOCIAL, Pune for a special double bill curated by Drumroll Please.
Daira are a Mumbai-based band known for their expansive take on Art-Rock, their songwriting and experimentation. With a sound that moves between intensity, melody and improvisation, their live performances are rooted in a decade of making music on their own terms.
Azaad Sangeet is the independent live project of musician, composer and producer Siddharth Pandit, built around an eclectic songbook, multiple voices and a fluid mix of Indian and Western musical influences. The project brings together songs from Pandit's extensive body of work in a live format that is deliberately difficult to put into a single genre.
This is a two-act lineup, with Daira and Azaad Sangeet performing separate live sets. Two individual musical identities, presented on the same bill, making for a night that moves across rock, indie, contemporary Indian music and everything in between.
Come for one act, stay for both.
